FRIENDS and family of a murdered teenager will host a music festival tomorrow to raise money for a charity set up in her name.

Jayden Parkinson was killed by her partner Ben Blakeley in countryside south of Didcot in 2013 when she was 17 years old.

Blakeley is currently serving a minimum 20 year sentence for the murder, after being convicted of the crime in July 2014.

On what would have been Jayden's 21st birthday, the one day festival featuring live bands and a charity raffle will take place at the Prince of Wales Pub in Station Road, Didcot.

The free event is open to everyone and runs from 2pm until 11pm.

Jayden's mother, Samantha Shrewsbury, said they were holding a music festival because she had always intended to take her daughter to one when she turned 18.

The raffle will be drawn at 4pm with the top prize a half an hour flying lesson.

Ms Shrewsbury said: "Everyone has put so much effort in to the event, we are really grateful.

"All the money raised will go to Jayden's foundation.

"We are hoping to eventually be able to buy some woodland nearby where the kids can camp and have a holiday."
