A NURSERY at an RAF base has been rated ‘good’ across the board.
Sunshine Day Nursery at the force’s Brize Norton site impressed an inspector at the education regulator Ofsted, during a visit in August.
The childcare provider, which looks after 77 children, maintained its previous rating of ‘good’.
In a report released yesterday, an Ofsted inspector wrote:”Children of all ages are imaginative in their play and test out their ideas.
“They enthusiastically make soup for the resident ‘dragon’ that lives in the hedge, and investigate how much water they need to add to soil to make mud.
“Children enthusiastically ride bicycles, take turns on the slide and shout with delight as they run down the grass bank.”
The nursery looks after children from military families based at Brize Norton, aged between one and five years old.
It received a ‘good’ rating at its previous inspection in 2014.
In yesterday’s report, the inspector added: “The managers lead the nursery well and support a dedicated team.
“They successfully addressed the areas for development identified at the last inspection...Children look after each other and are proud of their achievements.”
