CHERWELL district council has backed a bid for £152 million of Government funding to improve transport links in north Oxfordshire.
The council's leader Barry Wood said he is committed to supporting Oxfordshire County Council in its bid to obtain the money from the Housing Infrastructure Fund.
If successful, £152 million would be used to improve the A44 and A4260 so that 4,400 new homes can be built.
Mr Wood said the bid would help to make Cherwell an 'excellent place to live.'
