A JILTED lover turned up at his ex-flame’s house with an axe and a machete after sending dozens of messages threatening to kill her and her children.

Hungarian national Zoltan Molnar, of Kelburne Road, Cowley, Oxford, was jailed for 15 months after admitting two counts of possessing the offensive weapons on July 14 this year, as well as one count of harassment, one of criminal damage and another of possessing cocaine.

Oxford Crown Court heard at his sentencing yesterday how the married 31-year old had first met his victim online after she set up an escort business.

He quickly struck up a friendship with the woman, who is half-Hungarian, and it developed into an affair.

Molnar briefly moved in with her around Christmas time last year but moved out soon after when it became apparent, the court heard, that he was possessive, aggressive and overly jealous.

After they broke off the affair Molnar sent about 40 text messages to the woman on July 13 threatening he would kill her and her children, who lived in Spain.

The following day, the court heard, he turned up at her home armed with an axe and a machete, and urinated on her front door, wedging the locking mechanism with chewing gum, disabling it.

He was in such a rage that day that his own wife and best friend made repeated phone calls to the victim warning her to stay away.

Molnar wept and sunk his head in his hands as Judge Ian Pringle jailed him, telling him: “You were consumed utterly by jealousy and rage.

“It is fortunate the police came and you were arrested.”
