MORE ambitious emission reduction targets are needed to reach one of the key goals of the Paris Agreement, a new Oxford University partnership has warned.
Scientists found limiting the increase in global average temperatures to 1.5°C, the goal of the international climate change agreement, is not yet geophysically impossible with the figures pledged so far.
The research, carried out by Oxford University's Environmental Change Institute and Oxford Martin School, as well other national and international groups, was published in the journal Nature Geoscience.
