A HEADINGTON sculpture that is claimed to be the largest in the city has been shortlisted for a national sculptures award.
The 'Origin' sculpture outside of the Big Data Institute and Target Discovery Institute, off Old Road, Headington, is up for the Marsh Award for Excellence in Public Sculpture.
Oxford university commissioned the public art piece and unanimously favoured a design submitted by sculptor Julian Wild.
Mr Wild, who is from Sussex, said on Twitter that he was 'thrilled' the design had been shortlisted for the Marsh Award.
The award winner for the competition will be announced at a ceremony to be held in London in November.
