CAMPAIGNERS opposing plans to build 3,500 new homes on green belt land in Culham are planning a protest rally to raise awareness of their concerns.
South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) unveiled the new homes in its draft local plan, which sets out a blueprint for development in the coming years.
The site lies between Abingdon Road and the River Thames.
Residents are concerned that this will lead to the population of the village increasing from 450 currently to nearly 10,000.
The Save Culham Green Belt committee will stage the rally in Culham's village green on Sunday, September 24 at 3pm.
Residents and their supporters will join together forming a link around the perimeter of the village green with green ribbons, and green clothing.
Parishes throughout Oxfordshire will be holding similar rallies against the development at the same time.
