A COUNCIL is urging people in West Oxfordshire to get in touch if they have not received a new wheelie bin.

West Oxfordshire District Council, which has been distributing the new blue-lidded wheelie bins for recycling across the district, has asked those that have not received them to contact them via phone or online.

From October, households across the district will use wheelie bins for recycling, except for glass and small electrical items which will be collected in a black box.

In line with most other councils, recycling collections will become fortnightly and will alternate with the general household rubbish collection.

However, food waste will continue to be collected weekly.

The new recycling bins have been delivered to householders during July this month.

Residents who want to let the council know they have not received their new bin can get in touch via westoxon.gov.uk/bins2017 or by calling 01993 861025.
