LITTER, graffiti and bulky waste have been removed from neighbourhoods in the east side of Banbury.
Cherwell District Council workers spent a week cleaning up the area as part of the Grimsbury blitz.
The council said that it had removed waste weighing the equivalent of a double-decker bus including one tonne of litter that was collected by hand.
Unwanted furniture and white goods were collected from 84 households who took advantage of an offer of free bulky waste collection.
Councillor Debbie Pickford, Cherwell's lead member for clean and green, said: “It’s really impressive that Cherwell’s hardworking street cleansing team has collected such a large amount of rubbish, leaving Grimsbury looking its best in time for the children going back to school."
