Teams of cleaners have hit the streets of Greater Leys in a bid to spruce up the area.
City council and housing association staff took part in litter picking, sign cleaning and tidying shrubberies and gardens as part of the Clean and Green Oxford campaign.
Residents whose gardens could harbour vermin were also given warnings and graffiti was identified for removal at a later date.
The teams raised awareness about recycling, reducing littering and dog fouling and stopping fly tipping.
Grenoble way has now got a new bus shelter and a bench was replaced on Coriander Way.
Councillor John Tanner said the work had 'resulted in a clearly visible improvement.'
He continued: “Most residents take pride in the area they live in and we’ll continue to support them with clean and green campaigns like this.
"It’s an anti-social minority who litter, fly tip or spray graffiti and make these clean ups necessary. We’d rather spend taxpayers’ money improving the area, not just cleaning-up the mess left by a handful of residents.”
