FROM roaring engines to a peaceful sleep, a bed shop is hoping to move into a former motorbike showroom.
Abingdon Beds is hoping to take over the the unit on Marcham Road which used to house Blade Motorcycles.
In a planning application for the change of use to Vale of White Horse District Council, Abingdon Beds managers said their current premises on the corner of Spring Road and Edward Street were ‘no longer fit for purpose’, mainly because of the difficulty in loading and unloading large bulky mattresses on a busy road.
Marcham Road, while busier still, is also wider.
