NATURE lovers in Oxfordshire are being encouraged to join the RSPB’s Big Wild Sleepout under the stars this weekend.

Thousands of families across the UK have already signed up to spend the night in their garden or a local park looking out for nocturnal wildlife such as owls, bats, hedgehogs and moths.

The charity says recent warm dry weather in June and July has seen an ‘eruption’ in sightings of such beasts as well as bats and badgers.

The Big Wild Sleepout, now in its fifth year, aims to encourage a love of nature.
