A CALL has gone out to walking and running groups in Bicester to help promote the new active health routes in town.

A number of painted routes have been painted on pavements throughout the town as part of Bicester’s bid to live up to it’s title as an NHS Healthy Town.

This has included a a blue 5K line painted throughout Langford Village.

Now, Cherwell District Council is looking for people to promote the health routes and will provide training for them.

Council leader Barry Wood said: “Volunteer leaders help people in their community to get active and healthy, providing vital support that they otherwise might not get.

“As well as ensuring walks and jogs are friendly, safe and well run, leaders will be our Healthy Bicester champions showing people that regular exercise really can make a big difference to their lives."
