VOLUNTEERS will swoop on a Headington Quarry park to give the grounds a spruce tomorrow.

The Conservation Workday will take place at Stansfeld Park from 9.45am.

Oxford Conservation Volunteers will visit the Oxford Trust park to carry out a range of conservation activities.

The team will install handrails to a boardwalk, carry out scything and raking of a meadow, and complete shrub clearance to open up new areas of woodland.

Plans were approved last year to refurbish the site to create a new science park and innovation centre.

The volunteers day is free and open to all .
