A COLOURFUL half term is in store for visitors to a museum in Oxford.

From Tuesday the Story Museum in Pembroke Street will be celebrating its new exhibition ‘Wild About Colour’.

David Gibb, marketing and communications officer, said a range of activities had been planned around it.

He said: “The week starts with everyone’s favourite patchwork elephant – Elmer.

“Elmer and his friends are inviting visitors on a musical safari through the jungle to celebrate everything makes him unique.

“The theme continues as Science Oxford present the Colour Lab, a playful exploration of the science of colour.

“Participants can learn how to mix colours, experiment and create their own colourful art to take home.”

Master printer Paul Nash will be hosting a family workshop, showing visitors the art of printing by hand.

Families will learn how books were created in the past and will be able to make their own book cover.

Award winning illustrator Mini Grey will take youngsters on a magical journey as she presents her new book, Bad Bunnies Magic and helps them create a magic mini-book of their own.

Mr Gibb added: “It is going to be a really exciting week and we look forward to welcoming families throughout it.”
