THE county councillor in charge of transport is to decide if a parking bay for permit holders in East Oxford should be removed.
There are proposals to remove the parking bay in Collins Road, close to the former Travis Perkins builders’ site, which is to be developed with an apartment block and offices.
At a meeting at County Hall, at 10am on Thursday, transport officers will ask David Nimmo-Smith, cabinet member for environment, to agree to remove the parking bay and replace it with double yellow lines. One permit holder has objected to the proposals, which are being recommended to ensure access is not blocked for contractors and emergency vehicles.
