VINTAGE car enthusiasts can admire spruced-up motors at a specialist event.

The MG Car Club in Abingdon will make its debut at an annual car and restoration show.

Fans of classic cars will flock to the show at the NEC in Birmingham from March 31 until April 2.

Club general manager Adam Sloman said: “We visited the show back in 2016 and found ourselves very impressed with the event, and we’re delighted that it’s now on our calendar for the first time.

“MG drivers are practical people who enjoy working on and restoring their own vehicles.

“By being present at the show, we want to demonstrate the level of support that the club can offer to its members.”

It will take up stand 12-410 at the Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show, where vintage and modern models will be displayed in different stages of restoration.

The MG club is based at Kimber House in Abingdon close to where the famous MG factory stood for 50 years.

The car manufacturer was one of the town’s main employers until its closure in 1980
