THE developers behind the Grove Airfield housing estate plan have spoken of their frustration with delays.

But Persimmon Homes said it is still committed to the 2,500-home scheme – 20 years after it first got involved.

The hosing estate was granted permission in December 2013 but work has been delayed because one of the 14 landowners concerned is sticking hard in financial negotiations.

Persimmon's Keith Roberts wrote a letter to Grove Parish Council this month saying: "I can confirm that the developers are still very much committed to the project after nearly 20 years’ involvement.

"We are making progress and are edging our way to a conclusion and signing the s106 agreement.

"I know it is all frustrating, but the parish council can be assured we are trying very hard to bring this matter to a successful conclusion."
