A FINALE of events to mark the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death will take place next month.

Shakespeare Oxford 2016 will feature a visit from award-winning writer Margaret Atwood, who will be appearing at the Sheldonian Theatre on Wednesday, November 9 at 7pm to talk about her latest novel Hag-Seed, a re-imagining of The Tempest.

On Sunday, November 6 Carousing with Shakespeare will be staged at the North Wall Arts Centre in South Parade, Oxford at 7.30pm.

And Oxford University Press editors will discuss the theme of Undead Shakespeare with Shakespearean scholar Sir Stanley Wells, honorary president of The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, on Wednesday, November 23 at Oxford Martin School at 5.30pm.

Shakespeare’s Dead or Alive is supported by Arts Council England and is part of Shakespeare Oxford 2016 a year-long festival which aims to light up the city in new and unusual ways, turning the spotlight on a rich array of Shakespearean expertise and creative innovation.

The festival team includes the Bodleian Library, Oxfordshire County Library Service, Oxford University English Faculty, Blackwell's, Oxford University Press and Experience Oxfordshire.
