SHAKESPEARE'S plays are being performed in Oxfordshire libraries as part of a series of celebrations to mark 400 years since the Bard's death.

Dancers will be interpreting Hamlet and other characters in a selection of scenes.

Sea of Troubles, a ballet about Hamlet by Sir Kenneth Macmillan, will be performed by Yorke Dance Project at the Bodleian's Weston Library on Sunday, September 18.

There’ll also be a companion talk and movement workshop at Summertown Library tonight at 7.30pm, led by Oxford dancer and choreographer Susie Crow.

And dance project Shakespeare Dead or Alive will feature at Cowley Library on Tuesday, October 25, directed by local performance poet Euton Daley and dance artist Cecilia Macfarlane.

The show will also be playing at the Weston Library on Sunday, November 27 as part of Christmas Light festivities.
