POLL cards for those who registered to vote in upcoming elections have now been posted out by West Oxfordshire District Council.
The elections for 17 district seats, all seats on 19 Town and Parish Councils, a single vacancy on Chipping Norton Council and the Thames Valley Police and Crime Commissioner take place on Thursday, May 5.
Residents are reminded the deadline for postal vote applications is 5pm on April 19.
Keith Butler, electoral registration officer for West Oxfordshire District Council, said: “It’s always important to check the details on your poll card and make sure they are correct.
“People sometimes think they can register for a postal vote just before an election but we need sufficient time to process these requests and that is why the deadline is 19 April.
“Anyone who has not registered to vote so far has until 18 April to sign up to ensure their voice is heard at these important elections.”
“By doing so, you would also be registered in good time ahead of the referendum vote regarding the UK’s membership of the European Union on 23 June.”
