Birthday honours from the Queen and tensions at the G7 summit in Canada top the agenda on Saturday.

The Daily Mail leads on Network Rail boss Mark Carne being named among the honours list, picking up a CBE for services to the rail industry.

The paper runs with the headline: “Off the Rails”, and carries comments from the Association of British Commuters calling the gong a “slap in the face” for rail travellers following weeks of disruption due to the introduction of new timetables.

An honour for Kenny Dalglish makes the front of both the Daily Mirror and Daily Star, with the Liverpool football legend receiving a knighthood for his campaigning and charity work.

The i describes those given awards – including a 103-year-old poppy seller and NHS medics – as “the best of British”.

Away from honours, The Times turns its attention to the G7 summit, reporting that Donald Trump has “wrecked” Theresa May’s efforts to use the meeting to further isolate Vladimir Putin.

The US president called for Russia to rejoin the group, the paper says.

Meanwhile, the Daily Express reports on a promise from the PM to beef up police powers to tackle moped crime, and The Guardian claims the Army has been targeting recruitment material at “stressed and vulnerable” 16-year-olds via social media around GCSE results day.

The Independent leads on a study revealing that tens of thousands of families in England have been waiting for more than a decade to move into social housing.

Elsewhere, The Sun reports on Victoria and David Beckham being forced to deny they are splitting following social media rumours.
