Penryn’s Methodist Church celebrated its 120th anniversary this month with a special service attended by local dignitaries.

Deputy mayor Beverely Hulme was on hand as Minister the Rev Arthur Cowburn delivered a service steeped in history and religious significance.

Rosemary Webber, from the church, said: “In his sermon Arthur spoke about taking photographs, saying that a photo does not always give justice to the scene. We take these photos to remind ourselves of the good times.”

Adding: “He spoke of the time he went into a cathedral and found he was in there on his own and thought it was awesome and he thought of the people who built it to the glory of God, just as we thought of the people who built Penryn Methodist Church 120 years ago.”
