OXFORD City ace Hannah England reached the Olympic 1,500m semi-finals today after finishing fifth in her heat.
The 25-year-old former Cherwell School pupil looked in good form as she comfortably made the top six needed to qualify for Wednesday's semis.
And her time of 4mins 5.78secs was the fifth fastest of all those progressing to the next round.
England led early on and never looked in trouble as she held her form well down the finishing straight.
Her heat was won by Ethiopia's Abeba Aregawi in 4.04.55.
England led a British trio into the semis with Lisa Dobriskey and Laura Weightman also progressing.
Meanwhile, Lawrence Okoye, who deferred a place at Oxford University to focus on London 2012, reached the discus final with a throw of 65.28m.
