Sussex's Steve Scott helped England win their first shooting gold at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi today.

The 24-year-old, who lives in Battle, and Stevan Walton took gold in the men's double trap pairs event.

The duo scored 189 points to beat Indian pair Ronjan Sodhi and Asher Noria into silver.

Malaysia's Benjamin Cheng Jie Khor and Seng Chye Khor took bronze.

Meanwhile, Slindon's Gemma Spofforth failed to add the Commonwealth backstroke gold to her world and European titles. Spofforth had to settle for second place in a time of 1 min 0.02 secs with Australian Emily Seebohm who was behind Spofforth at halfway. Spofforth said: "I'm really disappointed because I hate finishing second but hopefully I can put it right in my other events."
