DEACON Alms responded to their opening day defeat with a 3-0 win at West Harnham in the Salisbury & District Premier Division.

Adam Phillips, Gavin Ware and Ash Melvin all scored in the first half to give the visitors an unassailable lead, and with the late summer heat affecting both sides, neither side was able to find the net in the second.

Deacons' reserves drew 1-1 at home to Devizes Inn, taking a fifth-minute lead courtesy of a smart finish from Anthony Tatner. The visitors responded positively, forcing home goalkeeper Ben Eastwood making some superb saves, and a clipped cross was powerfully headed home towards the end of the half. Both sides hit the woodwork on several occasions, but neither could force a winner.

Boscombe Down Rec Club won 2-0 at Alderbury reserves, taking the lead midway through the first half after good work by Harry Gale whose cross was slotted in by Chris Young. Dave Sage sent Young in on goal and he made it two with 15 minutes to go.

After the previous week's 19-goal stroll, Nomansland were pushed all the way for a 3-2 victory over Halfway House reserves.

The visitors hit the woodwork after 20 seconds, and again on ten minutes. Nomansland then took the lead with a superb 30-yard strike by Dan Browning that ripped into the top corner.

A close-range header fron Dan Jones made it two, but Halfway pulled one back right on half time. The visitors then equalised with a great finish on the hour, but Nomansland came back when a perfect pass from Dan Hayward was clinically put away by Ben Gauntlett. Halfway hit the woodwork for a third time near the end of an excellent match.
