  The perpetrator would not be found innocent if the woman was actually raped, and reported it soon enough.
  Medical checks can confirm if a woman has been raped and not had consensual sex, there are plenty of tell-tale signs, it wouldn't be a case of one person's word against another's.
  If somebody was beaten up, and knew who did it, it wouldn't really be one person's word against another's would it, I've not heard of a case yet where someone has claimed they were beaten up, only to say later they actually agreed to let it happen.
  Also, women who have been raped, wouldn't consent to further sexual acts later, they'd be too traumatised and withdrawn to make a decision one way or the other.
  Anybody that falsely reports a crime should be charged, many people's lives have been destroyed due to false accusations."
