Debate over double yellows goes on

OXFORD: Traffic bossses have not yet decided if anything will replace controversial yellow lines that were removed from streets in Headington.

Oxfordshire County Council removed the double yellow lines – painted at right angles across the street – after residents branded them confusing.

Rodney Rose, the cabinet member for transport, said last night he was unsure whether anything would be replacing them.

He added he would meet highways officials to discuss the issue at a later date.
