OXFORD rockers Little Fish have toured the globe with some major acts including Courtney Love and Debbie Harry.

Now they are hoping to record their touring experiences in a new book and they want 400 loyal fans to be part of it.

Little Fish are now organist Ben Walker, 31, and singer Julia Heslop, 32, after drummer Nez Greenaway left to spend more time with his family.

The band went global after being spotted by producer and former 4 Non Blondes singer Linda Perry – responsible for hits by Gwen Stefani, Pink and Christina Aguilera.

They want to document their rock ‘n’ roll history in a series of essays penned by writer Miranda Ward.

The band is aiming to get at least 400 loyal fans to order the book called The New Original Little Fish Paper Club Handbook.

In return, the fans will have their names printed in the back of the book and could also get exclusive downloads or a chance to join the band in the studio.

Mr Walker, a former pupil of St Edward’s School who completed a music degree at St Anne’s College, said: “This is quite an unusual way of putting a book together but it could increase our fanbase and create a piece of unique merchandise.

“We have 300 pledges so far, so we need about another 100 over the next ten days so that the project can go ahead.

“Fans have been asked to pledge £20 and the book could go on sale at a later date in bookshops priced £12 to £15.

“It’s not a biography or a history but it’s using Little Fish as a springboard to talk about what’s going on with music, culture, the internet, labels and celebrity.”

Ms Heslop said: “We’ve been doing stuff on vinyl and vinyl used to come with these great stories and liner notes. We want to recapture that.”

Following last year’s Baffled And Beat album, the band released new single Wonderful last month and is working on new material.

The single was produced by Supergrass frontman Gaz Coombes.

Little Fish are touring Singapore later this month and Turkey in March.
