OXFORDSHIRE County Council chief Keith Mitchell is a bit like marmite — either a strong leader or he leaves a nasty taste in the mouth.
He has given long service to Oxfordshire but there was clearly a mood for change among some of his Conservative colleagues.
The leadership challenge last week begs the question: Is this the beginning of the end?
If so, the local political scene will be less colourful and less combative.
