THIS boat got wedged under a bridge after vandals unchained its moorings.

The vessel drifted along Castle Mill Stream in Oxford and crashed into Park End Street Bridge on Wednesday.

Last night the Environment Agency said it was the second boat to be untied in the past week.

Officer Al Wells was among the team sent down to remove the boat.

He said: “This was definitely not an accident.

“It was securely chained up and was obviously released by somebody up to no good.

“It was the second such incident to happen this week.

“A member of the public saw it and reported it to us and we sent a team down to move it further up stream.

“The boat was causing a major blockage and it has now been moored up in a safer area.”

Mr Wells said the owner had been notified.
