A little camp can go a long way. Look at Elton John, ABBA and Kylie for proof. But an act has to be very special to carry off such theatricalities.
Musically Scissor Sisters are spot on, but they also feature not one, but two fabulous showmen: Jake Shears and Ana Matronic, so they score on both counts.
The partisan Brighton Dome audience becomes terribly excitable during Take Your Mama, Laura and the hypnotic trance of Comfortably Numb. And the excitement threshold rises further in response to Mr Shears's increasing state of undress and Ms Matronic's more outlandish behaviour and dialogue. Outrageous, and outrageously good.
