A SURPRISE guest helped hundreds of teenagers take a first look at what their future careers could hold.
Britain’s Got Talent finalist Shaun Smith, pictured, joined almost 50 businesses visiting Cooper School in Bicester yesterday to give tips and advice to students about to pick their GCSE subjects.
Mr Smith, 18, entertained pupils with two songs at the ninth annual Going 4 It event.
He said: “I was at school in exactly the same position as these kids – when you are choosing your GCSE options you don’t know what to do.
“I told pupils they should work hard for what they want and if they had confidence in themselves other people would see that and have confidence in them.”
About 400 pupils from Bicester Community College and Cooper School were able to quiz people about careers as diverse as horse racing, veterinary surgery and car manufacturing.
