Do my eyes deceive me? Some of those limits are going *up*, not down. Quick, there's been a mistake...

Nobody sticks to speed limits anymore, and the police aren't interested in enforcing them, so what's the point?.

Is this going to be a regular occurrence, reducing the limit by 10mph every few years until it gets down to zero?

There is indeed. About a 150 metre stretch from between Johnsons Buildbase and the Grenoble Road roundabout. 30mph to 40mph. Quite sensible really.

Not sensible at all for cyclists who have to use road with no cycle lane. Wait for the first death then state sensible. Should be 20!

Dear cyclists.....Don't use the road if you can not cycle safely.

The cycle lane has formed part of the pavement at that section for over a decade.

Because the pavement (don't people normally have a downer about cycling on pavements?!) is just on one side of the road, cyclists heading east have to cross over the road twice to use it. Thus if speeds are increased from 30 to 40 one would imagine that they are at more risk.

But anyway I think some of these proposals are very sensible. I've witnessed some suicidal driving on the roads between golden balls and Chiselhampton and Hanney and Steventon by people believing that they should be going at 60 (the theoretical limit) around tricky blind bends.

Can someone tell me what is meant by 30+ speed limit on the A40 east of Headinton which I think is the dual carriage way section?

It can't mean 30mph can it, if so the council have obviously got so old they've turned senile!

The idiots are at it again. We should vote against any councilor who votes for this nonsense. Especially Jean Rook who appears to very anti motorist.
