ELECTION: Tory "didn't expect to win"

NEWLY elected Oxford West and Abingdon MP Nicola Blackwood said she had not expected to win the seat.

The 30-year-old Conservative won her place as an MP after gaining 176 more votes than Liberal Democrat Evan Harris.

Ms Blackwood said: "I feel rather elated. I have to say this wasn't the result I expected when I came over in the car this evening.

"This was a seat where every single vote counted."

Firstly! Well done Nicola. She was the only candidate standing who I saw out and about and her office responded to my letter promptly and well.

She is young, freash and seems to have a good head on her shoulders, lets give her a chance to make a change for the good!

Because some of us remember the state the Tories got this country into the last time they were in charge. I'm not saying Labour were the saviours they promised to be - far from it - but in the self-serving stakes, the Tories make the current lot look like amateurs.

we are inded well and truly shafted as Cleggie prepares to cosu up to Dave in a LibCon love in - he will regret this when teh Tories, at a time of their choosing and popularity, wion an outright majority and Clegg will know how it feels to have been used and abused. If he ignored a golden oportuntity for real democratic change in our voting system he could take Brokews offer on the basis if it being in the country's interest. His party will suffer more from a Con alliance than a Lab one
