LABOUR has launched a probe after a senior city councillor was ejected from Oxford's EU referendum count by police.

Mike Rowley, executive board member for housing, attempted to enter Town Hall, in St Aldates', at about 12.30am on Friday but clashed with security staff when he was refused.

During the disturbance the councillor for Barton and Sandhills shouted "I am an elected member of this council", as colleagues attempted to defuse the situation.
