ABINGDON Town Council has been flying its flag at half mast following the death of former mayor Patricia Hobby.
In a statement, the council said: “It is with great sadness that Abingdon Town Council announce the Patrcia’s death. She has been a member of the town council since 2003 and was Mayor of Abingdon from May 2009 to May 2010. The Town Flag on Abingdon County Hall was flown at half-mast as a mark of respect.”
She died at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford on Monday, aged 67.
The mother-of-two was well known for her commitment to the Abingdon in Bloom contest.
