The changing face of Great Milton

PUB and church united for a pig roast at the King’s Head in 1977 to raise money for the church restoration fund. Nearly 200 people, including the vicar, the Rev Eric Barker, turned out to support the event, organised by mine hosts David and Lyn Pope.

Children at Great Milton School took part in a sponsored skip in 1996, but we’re not sure what good cause they were supporting. The next picture shows Abeed Visram, nine, Laura Anderson, eight, and Katrina Arkell, eight, in action.

Members of a village group calling themselves Pots Luck produced an attractive textile map of the village in 1998, seen in all its colourful glory.
