ON WHAT looks like a fairly steep hill, these pram racers were able to get up quite a speed.
The picture was taken during Steeple Aston’s Whit Monday Pram Race in 1973.
It shows Steve Bell, in the grey shirt, and Tony King, in the blue top, on their way to the first of their three wins in the annual competition.
They left the rest of the pram racers trailing – and, it seems, some of the young spectators, who had a job keeping up with them as they sped round the village.
