MEMBERS of the North Oxford Angling Society didn’t spend all their time sitting by a river with a rod in their hand.

This group were preparing to leave on a coach outing, but we are not sure where they were going, or when the picture was taken.

The design of the bus in the background may give a clue as to the decade it was taken.

The other picture, also from the society’s archives, shows Peter Stone,the former Oxford Mail angling correspondent, receiving the Bustin Trophy in 1949.

Does anyone recognise the man making the presentation?
