THOUSANDS of workers at British Leyland took advantage of the glorious weather to enjoy the firm's annual gala in June 1975.
The event, in Roman Way, Horspath, was organised by the Pressed Steel Fisher Sports and Social Club.
Here youngster Terry Priest got ready for the fancy dress parade with his mummy costume while his sister Susan went as a copy of the Oxford Mail.
The highlight of the gala was a performance by the 100-strong Royal Harmonie Concert Band from Oosterbeck in Holland which opened proceedings with a marching display.
Other attractions included a display of dragster cars and motor cycles, an aerial dog fight, fun fair, sports show and caged bird display.
British Leyland also showcased their latest cars such as Allegro Estate.
In the evening a dance was held at the Emperor Ballroom.
