REGULARS at an Oxford pub were preparing to leap from an aircraft together as part of a sponsored charity skydive in June 1967.
The team of 11 parachutists from the Albion in Hollybush Row were all set to take off from Blackbushe Airport, near Reading, following a training session the day before.
They hoped to raise between £1,500 and £2,000 for their daring exploit, all of which was to be donated to Mencap, the charity which supports children with learning difficulties.

One member of the team, Mr Romeo, was unable to take the plunge himself due to work commitments in Brazil.
However, refusing to let the side down, he planning a parachute jump of his own the following month.
