I SAW the picture you published of Banbury Police football team winning the Oxfordshire Thursday League Tee Bee Cup in 1973 (Memory Lane, June 6).

I have a cutting from the Oxford Mail in the 1960s showing a team called Oxford United which played in the Thursday League in the 1913-14 season. They had just won the Korebo Cup, another Thursday League trophy.

The cutting had been sent in by Percy Cambray, treasurer of the Thursday FA, whose brother Sam was in the picture, third from the left, next to the man holding the cup. He asked if anyone could name any of the other players.

My grandfather, William Gammon, is in the back row, second from the right, and the man fourth from right was called Wheeler.
