SUE Hutchinson, from Australia and formerly a pupil at Cheney Girls’ School at Headington, appealed for any full school photographs from 1961 to 1965 (Memory Lane, May 23).
I did not attend Cheney School, but I am in possession of the Cheney School magazines for years 1960-2 and 1964-6.
They are full of information from the era, with many group photographs and drama pictures.
The magazine was supported by many local companies which are no longer trading.
Some examples are Broadribb Ltd, cycle dealer, New Inn Hall Street; Drings of Oxford, coaches, Windmill Road, Headington; Lodge Bros, watchmaker and jeweller, of Banbury Road, Oxford; and LCA Pearce, hairdresser, Grays Road, Headington.
Among the many articles are stories, poems and sports reports.
I have attached two examples of the group photographs showing the prefects from the 1965 edition.
