THESE pupils and staff were about to say farewell to their old school buildings.
It was the last picture taken at the City of Oxford High School for Boys before it amalgamated with Southfield School on the Southfield site off Glanville Road, East Oxford, in 1966.
Everyone connected with the High School assembled for a final panoramic photograph. This is the left section.
The picture comes from David Franklin, of Earl Stonham, Suffolk, who joined in 1959 and was in the sixth form when the move took place.
He is on the extreme left, in the first standing row, behind a student in glasses, Tim Pocock.
As we have recalled, the school occupied a site at the corner of George Street and New Inn Hall Street for 85 years, from 1881.
The third and final section will be published soon.
