VOTING was taken seriously at John Mason High School at Abingdon.
Polling booths and ballot boxes were installed and tellers sworn to secrecy were appointed as pupils elected their representatives to the school council.
An official from Abingdon Borough Council was even brought in to supervise the election.
The school council met regularly to decide certain aspects of running the school.
