CHARLBURY Youth Club became the first winners of the Arthur Naunton Memorial Trophy.
It was awarded annually to the youth organisations in West Oxfordshire gaining most points in various contests. It was named after the former youth organiser for the district.
Mr Naunton’s widow is pictured in 1962 handing the trophy to Jim Beckett, of Charlbury Youth Club. In the centre is David Baxter, of Carterton Youth Club, who was chairman of the presentation ceremony at Witney Youth Centre.
