A VISIT to an exhibition on the life of Lord Nuffield, creator of the Cowley car industry, paid off for these two schoolchildren.
Lucie Turrell, eight, is seen with her painting of a Bullnose Morris, while Richard Phipps, seven, proudly shows his picture of tanks and munitions.
They are pictured with fellow pupils at St Francis First School at Cowley after winning £5 cash prizes in a competition organised by the Thames and Chilterns Tourist Board and British Leyland in 1978.
Prizes were also awarded to pupils at numerous other schools who took part.
