I ENCLOSE a picture of me and fellow workers on the Marina line at the Cowley car assembly plant in the mid-1970s.
We were saying farewell to the young man in the centre, who was returning to his native Argentina to do his national service. I can’t recall his name.
I am on the right of the picture, behind the worker in the T-shirt.
The picture was taken in our tea room, during a break.
Those pictured include Butch, Michael, Dave, John and Chris, but I can’t remember their surnames.
I enjoyed my time there and it was one of the best jobs I had.
They were a great bunch of lads. We all got stuck in and helped one another.
I worked at the factory for 18 years.
