WI raises eyebrows with suspenders on show
MEMBERS of the Women’s Institute from Yorkshire caused a sensation when they posed nude for a calendar to raise money for charity in 1999.
Those in Oxfordshire haven’t been as daring, but they have provided the odd surprise over the years.
Take, for example, this group from Eynsham, pictured right, who raised a few eyebrows when they put on a variety show with their suspenders on show at Bartholomew School in 1970.
The movement has been celebrating its centenary this year.
What outrageous things will they be doing in the next century?
